From the moment we approached Shaun Greetham (Unique Landscapes) at Shrewsbury Flower Show to the completion of our amazing garden the experience has been nothing but smooth, professional and personal. Shaun understood immediately our hopes and expectations. Not only did he understand how we would use and benefit from our garden but also related it to the unusual and exceptional landscape we are surrounded by. Our garden, though having only been in place for less than 6 months, blends in seamlessly with our house which was built in the 1800's.

Initially we were keen to utilise our own contractor to bring Shaun's design to life, however on reflection, we are the first to admit that we were grateful to have followed Shaun's advice and use his team. They were dedicated, even walking the 1 mile from the main road to the property during the extreme winter we endured and worked in some horrendous conditions.

Both Shaun and his team have a remarkable eye for detail. How many men think about the trouble high heels might cause on steps and paving, creating a thoughtful and workable solution to the problem.

We have had numerous projects on our property over the years and our garden and working with Shaun has been the highlight.

Our garden had been unloved for a long time and major building work to the house had added to the challenge. Shaun worked with us to create an innovative and unique (sorry!) design including the brilliant idea of framing the patio with what looked like tumbled down old walls which looked like a continuation of our house. Nothing was too much trouble and we were absolutely delighted with the finished product. Shaun and Sean duly arrived during a very cold March 2007 to tackle the "sloping field" which was our back garden. Shaun had prepared a plan of action and a digger was soon hard at work clearing everything. We wondered if it would ever look like a garden but bit by bit a wonderful terraced area began to emerge. There would have been no way that we could ever have tackled such a task ourselves. Three and a bit weeks later the plants were in ,lawn laid and all the mess cleared away.

I had spent a few years deliberating over my ‘space’ in London. I wanted to keep the garden quite natural, with plenty of green, a patch for vegetables, a place to relax, and to hang up a hammock and enjoy a meal.

Someone I knew mentioned Shaun to me. I had a look on the website and felt reassured from his portfolio and speaking with him that he would be able to translate my head of ideas & wishes into a realistic plan, suiting both the size of the garden & fitting within my budget. Shaun was also very happy to come to London to do the work.

It wasn’t a big job, but the result was a complete transformation. From a rectangle of dirt to a garden created almost overnight that was full of plants, all of which worked perfectly with the trees & few plants already established.
